India has been growing constantly over the last few decades and this growth is seen everywhere – cities, towns and even villages. Old, heritage buildings have been replaced by high rises and cinemas (or talkies) have made space for multiplexes.
While we see the positives to this change we also think it is necessary to document the past and its simple glories. Almost every Indian city has gone through numerous changes. In order to record this change we’re inviting you to be a part of the Changing India initiative.
Like everything on Meme this too is very simple - the Changing India initiative would require you to post pictures of any of the Indian cities in different periods of time. For e.g. Mumbai circa 1939, Chennai (Madras) circa 1960, Ahmedabad circa 1990, etc
All you’ve got to do is find and post the photos on your meme with the following hash tags:
#(theyear) #(nameoftheplace) #ChangingIndia and always credit the source :)
So, for the picture you see here the tags would be:
#1927 #delhi #changingindia

We see that a few have picked up on this already, check these memes out: http://meme.yahoo.com/gingersoda/p/y_wk-Qy/

Come on, be a part of the bigger picture.
Cheers!!
